11 Signs of a Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual awakening is an ongoing process of becoming a Whole Person. One who is balanced in Male and Female energy, and nurturing both themselves and those around them.

spiritualawakening2It happens as one is growing through the process of discerning truth in the world around you, and continually reaching higher and higher peaks of awareness, also known sometimes as simply “getting it”. It is what Maslow calls ‘self-actualization,’ Carl Jung calls ‘individuation,’ and other psychologists call ‘a fully functioning human being’ or ‘a complete self.’

This is both an internal and external sense of transformation that takes place, making the experience one that effects and is effected by the individual as well as all of those around you through a change in character, personal expression, and kindness that is displayed.  The purpose of this article is to focus on some of the stuff that people who experience this go through.

Listed below are signs of spiritual awakening reported by those who have experienced it. It is important to note that these symptoms will eventually fade away after one adjusts to this phase of transformation.

1. Asking Questions about the world around you and the stuff that is taking place in your life.

2. Changes in sleeping patterns to suit your needs and requirements as a growing individual.

3. Stimulated sensations like random bursts of emotion that you didn’t usually feel before, such as crying during movies, feeling compassion and empathy towards those around you, changes in body temperatures, or sudden random urges to go and do something like running, swimming, or climbing a mountain.

awakeningeye4. Having great ideas and putting them into action, seeing the depth of the truth, willingness to look beyond the tip of the iceberg, compassion on a bigger scale, and thirst for knowledge.

5. Feeling pressure in different parts of the brain, such as the frontal lobes which is the male logical and thinking part, or the back of the brain which is more connected to the female, intuitive and space of connectedness.

6. The recognition of issues that have been denied, repressed, and avoided in the past and present may surface to be processed, in many cases, this may happen in relationship to someone or something, which offers opportunity for growth for everyone involved in the vibration.

7. Changes in the body like looking younger and stronger, which also goes hand-in-hand with changes in the eating habits and life style. Everything revolves around health.

8. Having personal and peak experiences where one feels at one and in peace with her/his surroundings. Having meaningful dreams and in-depth visions are not uncommon.

9. Craving more and more to break free from traditions, outdated institutional thinking, blind conformity, and useless beliefs that do not serve the greatest good of humankind… taking that craving, and turning it into action.

10. Seeing and comprehending the world in a way with deeper meanings. More and more awareness of synchronicities between the physical world and the feelings, thoughts, and energetic representation of the physical world.

11. Watching plenty of Spirit Science, and telling random strangers about it everywhere you go. (okay, that one was special just from me ^_^ )

If you feel like someone who has been through spiritual transformation or is going through one, surround yourself with peaceful, aware, positive, healthy, and supportive people and circumstances. It is extremely important to take good care of both yourself and those around you, be gentle, and pay attention to creating a shift in toxic situations and relationships.

6 Dosa Besar Google Terhadap Bangsa Indonesia, Tapi Tak Pernah Kita Sadari

Ada sebuah pertanyaan besar yang ada di benak saya setelah melihat perkembangan internet akhir-akhir ini. Rupanya pertanyaan yang sama juga ada di benak European Commission (EU) dan Federal Trade Commission (US) bahkan oleh Texas Attorney General. Apakah Google memonopoli internet?

Google CEO Eric Schmidt said this in 2009: “If you have something that you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.”

Google, yang pemberkasan domainnya dilansir pada tanggal 4 September 1998, mengklaim bahwa tidak ada praktik monopoli sama sekali di bisnisnya. Walaupun demikian, secara khusus, Google mengatakan bahwa sedang berlangsung review tentang beberapa bisnisnya, termasuk DoubleClick, Admob dan ITA Software.

Masih fresh ketika dahulu, bulan April 2008, dunia digegerkan dengan rencana penggabungan Google dan Yahoo! Inc. Kalau itu benar terjadi, tak pelak akan ada monopoli besar di search engine dan sistem pemasarannya. Ini jelas bahaya karena perputaran uang di search engine akan berkutat di dua perusahaan terbesar ini. Untung gak jadi. Persis tiga jam sebelum Deparment of Justice-nya Amerika memasukkan gugatan, dealnya batal.

Sampai dengan saat ini, banyak gugatan yang mengarah ke Google dan berbagai perusahaan besar internet lainnya, seperti Facebook misalnya. Semuanya berkutat di permasalahan penggunaan data pengguna. Bahkan secara terang-terangan Facebook meng-email semua penggunanya untuk mempergunakan photo-photo untuk kepentingan bisnis Facebook. Karena kejadian ini Facebook banyak di protes penggunanya. Hell no!

Yang paling gres dari Google adalah, beberapa hari yang lalu, pengacara perusahaan ini mengajukan permohonan untuk dapat membaca email dari setiap akun GMail. Yes, Google akan membaca isi setiap email yang kita kirim melalui sistem mereka. Alesannya simpel, sedikit naif juga menurut saya : “Scanning email is simply part of the business”. Whatt??

Wait. Mungkin ada benernya juga. Disetiap akun Gmail ada text-ads yang selalu muncul. Berawal dari sini, Google ‘maksa’ ingin membaca email kita. Keahlian algoritma Google yang membaca kata, tentu saja akan sangat berguna apabila bisa mendeteksi setiap kata di dalam email dan kemudian mengirimkan setiap iklan yang berhubungan dengan kata-kata tersebut. Boom! hasilnya tentu saja menjadi bentuk iklan yang sangat-sangat targeted. Masalahnya adalah, apakah akan berhenti sampai disitu saja. Wallahualam.

Walaupun sudah bersusah payah untuk menangkis berita dari Edward Snowden, mata-mata yang membocorkan rahasia Amerika ke publik, yang mengatakan bahwa Google adalah salah satu perusahaan yang membocorkan data penggunanya ke NSA melalui PRISM Program. PRISM adalah nama kode untuk program pengumpulan data via internet yang didukung oleh Protect America Act. Awalnya, program ini dipakai untuk mencegah terorisme dengan membuka data dan akses ke setiap akun yang dicurigai oleh National Security Agency (NSA) akan membahayakan bagi Amerika. Perusahaan besar yang berpartisipasi dalam program ini adalah : Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, YouTube, Skype, AOL dan Apple. Terakhir, Dropbox pun disebut akan join. Tentu saja, semua perusahaan ini membantah dengan keras keterlibatan mereka dalam PRISM.

Apapun itu, Google adalah raksasa besar. Karena besar berarti patut untuk sombong. Hanya saja, kesombongan itu tidak berarti di China. Entah kenapa, sekarang saya jadi mengerti mengapa Cnina menolak mentah-mentah Google dan men-support habis search engine domestik : Baidu. Tindakan yang dahulu dikecam banyak orang dunia, karena menghalangi globalisasi informasi katanya, sekarang menuai pujian. Hanya dengan keberanian semacam inilah, sebuah bangsa akan berdaulat besar. Kekuatan perusahaan global, yang didukung oleh Amerika, kemudian masuk menembus batas investasi dan ruang private, wajib dicurigai. Sayangnya negara kita tercinta ini masih malu-malu apabila berhubungan dengan perusahaan luar negeri. Lihat saja berapa banyak hasil alam kita yang dibawa ke luar negeri, oleh perusahaan luar negeri. Akankah, hasil intelektual kita termasuk pemikiran dan teknologi, akan dikuasai oleh perusahaan asing juga? Betulkan Google sedemikian murah hati untuk memasang muka manis dengan Pemerintah Indonesia? Ini adalah dosa besar yang sudah dan akan diperbuat Google terhadap bangsa ini.

1. Sebelum Membeli Android, Ini Harus Tahu

Setiap kali pertama kali kita mengaktifkan smartphone android, akan ada notifikasi agar memasukkan akun Google kita. Saya baru menyadari ini sedikit janggal ketika sadar bahwa akun tersebut tidak akan pernah tertutup selama kita memakai android yang sama. Artinya, semua bisnis Google : Search Engine, Video: YouTube, Maps, Gmail dan Chrome termasuk Google CheckOut (sekarang Google wallet) akan terus berada dalam posisi ‘on’. Here’s the problem : ketik kata ‘email’ maka kita akan diarahkan ke Gmail, padahal Gmail adalah layanan email yang ketiga terbesar di dunia. Yang pertama adalah YahooMail. Termasuk ketika kita ketik kata ‘analytic’ atau ‘translate’, tebak apa yang keluar pertama kali. Pencarian anda di Android tidak akan pernah fair. Google-lah yang berkuasa dan ini tidak pernah dikomunikasikan ke publik.

2. Google Maps : Intelejen atas nama Peta

Saya pernah posting di Bixbux ini tentang bagaimana Google Maps bisa sangat membahayakan. Ini sungguh terjadi. Dengan leluasa Google bisa mendeteksi dimana kita berada. Pejabat tinggi negara, lokasi instalasi militer sampai dengan lokasi rahasia akan terkuak dengan mudah. Jangan lupa, berdasarkan undang-undang kita, peta dasar sebuah wilayah hanya bisa disediakan oleh negara. Google sudah melanggar ini dengan menyediakan peta dasar setiap inchi ibu pertiwi. Pertanyaan : apakah anda yakin Google gak bisa liat berapa banyak tank atau pesawat kita yang diparkir di outdoor? Atau berapa banyak anggota militer kita dengan mengidentifikasi berapa banyak markas/barak militer yang kita punyai? Bagaimana dengan istana negara, yakinkah kalau presiden kita terbebas dari ancaman? Secara keluar masuknya kendaraan di istana negara dapat diketahui Google secara real time?

3. Adsense Publisher Indonesia? Banned!

Saya tidak menyalahkan Google karena banyak mem-banned akun adsense dari publisher asal Indonesia. Banyak banget sekarang penyedia layanan ads, baik itu ads-network atau traffic source company, yang menolak publisher dari Indonesia hanya karena banyaknya ‘fraud’ yang dilakukan. Yang tidak boleh dilupakan adalah : Google pun mencari uang di Indonesia. Pemasang iklan di Google dari Indonesia bisa dikatakan sangat potensial. Ketakutan Google ini ditandai dengan dibukanya kantor Google secara diam-diam. Sempat ada kontroversi apakah perlu Google memasang server di Indonesia, tetapi lambat laun berita itu senyap karena Google meng-klaim hanya mengaktifkan biro iklannya saja di Jakarta. Mau biro iklan atau apapun itu, uang dari advertiser asal Indonesia tetap saja ditarik mulus ke Singapore (kantor Google ada disana) sebelum dilarikan dengan senyuman ke Amerika.
Kalau perusahaan sebesar ini selalu menyalahkan Publishernya dan mendewakan Advertiser, terus mengapa setiap dollar dari akun yang ter-banned, yang selalu dibilang akan dikembalikan ke pemasang iklan (advertiser) tidak pernah terjadi. Kejadian ini pernah ditelusuri oleh rekan saya, Harrison Gervitz, yang akun adsense-nya dibanned, tetapi uangnya tidak pernah kembali ke advertiser (Harrison juga pemasang iklan di Google, pemegang akun premium Adwords).

4. Menguasai Pasar Indonesia dari Luar

Mengapa pemerintah Indonesia begitu tunduk terhadap Google? Jawabannya cuma satu : karena rakyat kita begitu bangga dengan produk yang mendunia. Lihat saja betapa orang kita sangat bangga berkenalan dengan orang-orang Google. Atau ketika terlibat dalam berbagai acara yang diselenggarakan oleh Google. They are not a God. Mereka adalah penguasa pasar search engine di Indonesia. Adakah search engine lokal yang sering kita pakai? No, gak ada. Terus kenapa tidak ada program pemerintah untuk memakai produk lokal, bahkan dalam kita berinternet? Jutaan traffic dari Indonesia saat ini betul-betul dikuasai oleh berbagai perusahaan luar negeri, dari luar negeri dan tidak ada perlindungan sama sekali dari pemerintah lokal. Apabila ada dispute, undang-undang ynag dipakai tentu saja undang-undang dimana kantor Google itu berada. Undang-undang Indonesia? Maaf ya, gak akan dipake, kecuali yang mengatur iklan digital. Eh, emang ada ya?

5. Google Play? Developer Indonesia Harap Menyingkir

Ini sangat riil. Tidak seperti Apple, Google tidak memperbolehkan developer aplikasi asal Indonesia, yang tinggal di Indonesia dengan akun bank Indonesia untuk ‘mencari uang’ di pasar aplikasi Android miliknya: Google Play. Bandingkan dengan berapa banyaknya pengguna Android di Indonesia. Di tahun 2011 saja, pengiriman smartphone Android ke Indonesia tumbuh 22 persen secara berurutan. Secara global, 48 miliar aplikasi Android yang sudah diinstal dan 2.5 miliar terakhir didapat hanya dalam kurun waktu 4 bulan saja. Untuk itu Google juga mengakui bahwa kini pendapatan mereka lebih banyak dari Google Play Store dibanding tahun lalu dan pendapatan per penggunaan juga meningkat 2.5 kali. Hal tersebut diungkap dalam acara Google I/O 2013 yang diselenggarakan diMoscone Center West, San Fransisco pada bulan Mei 2013. Jadi, operating systemnya masuk ke Indonesia (90% melalui handset Samsung), aplikasinya banyak diunduh orang Indonesia, tetapi orang Indonesia, yang tinggal di bumi pertiwi, dengan akun bank lokal, tidak diperbolehkan menjual aplikasi berbayar di Google Play. Dimana keadilan?

6. There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch!

Artinya : gak ada itu namanya makan siang gratis, semua ada timal baliknya. Oke, Google di Indonesia mempunyai program Bisnis Lokal Go Online. Salah satu programnya adalah menyediakan domain dan hosting gratis untuk 100.000 pengusaha kecil yang akan menggarap pasar online. Secara khusus disebutkan, saat ini hanya ada 75.000 UKM dari 17 juta UKM yang memiliki website sendiri. Santa claus? Wait, tunggu dulu. Bantuan lain dari program ini adalah Bantuan dari Google ini secara lebih rinci yaitu: (1) Gratis domain “.co.id” untuk satu tahun pertama setelah pendaftaran. Untuk tahun berikutnya peserta UKM akan dikenakan biaya maksimal Rp 150.000 per tahun, (2) Gratis konsultasi dan edukasi bisnis yang berkelanjutan, (3) Gratis iklan online dan terdaftar di Google Maps, (4) Kupon AdWords bernilai Rp 500.000 untuk 100.000 pendaftar pertama yang telah mengaktifkan situs mereka dan memiliki akun di AdWords. Hhmm..tiga dari empat poin di atas memakai kata gratis. Oke, tetap saja gak akan gratis selamanya, tetapi kita semua tahu, mempunyai website saja tidaklah cukup bagi sebuah perusahaan. Perjuangan untuk mendapatkan ranking pertama di search engine itu yang justru menarik. Akankah Google memberikan insentif posisi hasil search engine? Kecuali produk Amazon (karena 3 board director-nya Google dulunya dari Amazon, bahkan Amazon konon mempunyai integrasi platform ads PPC yang khusus dr Google), jangan harap Google akan mengulurkan tangan. Kapitalis bernama Google ini akan terus menarik setiap rupiah yang kita punya ke luar negeri.

Terus terang, saya bukan antipati terhadap Google. Tetapi rasanya memang perusahaan ini perlu penyeimbang yang sebanding. Investasinya dipajak lebih banyak kek, atau harus bersikap ramah terhadap bangsa ini. Entah kenapa saya mempunyai keyakinan, kalau presiden kita masih Soekarno, tidak akan harkat dan martabat bangsa ini diinjak sedemikian dalam oleh perusahaan luar negeri. Sedih, tapi kita akan selalu diposisi yang kalah oleh Google. Gak percaya, yuk kita ‘googling’ lagi aja, daripada mikir yang beginian.

  1. Try to meditate every day for at least 10-15 minutes

  7. Throughout the day try to recall the experience of the meditation as often as you can and use it to guide everything you think, say, and do

Types of meditation

Meditation is an umbrella term for the many ways to a relaxed state of being. There are many types of meditation and relaxation techniques that have meditation components. All share the same goal of achieving inner peace.

Ways to meditate can include:

  • Guided meditation. Sometimes called guided imagery or visualization, with this method of meditation you form mental images of places or situations you find relaxing. You try to use as many senses as possible, such as smells, sights, sounds and textures. You may be led through this process by a guide or teacher.
  • Mantra meditation. In this type of meditation, you silently repeat a calming word, thought or phrase to prevent distracting thoughts.
  • Mindfulness meditation. This type of meditation is based on being mindful, or having an increased awareness and acceptance of living in the present moment. You broaden your conscious awareness. You focus on what you experience during meditation, such as the flow of your breath. You can observe your thoughts and emotions but let them pass without judgment.
  • Qi gong. This practice generally combines meditation, relaxation, physical movement and breathing exercises to restore and maintain balance. Qi gong (CHEE-gung) is part of traditional Chinese medicine.
  • Tai chi. This is a form of gentle Chinese martial arts. In tai chi (TIE-chee), you perform a self-paced series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner while practicing deep breathing.
  • Transcendental meditation. You use a mantra, such as a word, sound or phrase repeatedly silently, to narrow your conscious awareness and eliminate all thoughts from your mind. You focus exclusively on your mantra to achieve a state of perfect stillness and consciousness.

Elements of meditation

Different types of meditation may include different features to help you meditate. These may vary depending on whose guidance you follow or who’s teaching a class. Some of the most common features in meditation include:

  • Focused attention. Focusing your attention is generally one of the most important elements of meditation. Focusing your attention is what helps free your mind from the many distractions that cause stress and worry. You can focus your attention on such things as a specific object, an image, a mantra, or even your breathing.
  • Relaxed breathing. This technique involves deep, even-paced breathing using the diaphragm muscle to expand your lungs. The purpose is to slow your breathing, take in more oxygen, and reduce the use of shoulder, neck and upper chest muscles while breathing so that you breathe more efficiently.
  • A quiet setting. If you’re a beginner, practicing meditation may be easier if you’re in a quiet spot with few distractions — no television, radios or cellphones. As you get more skilled at meditation, you may be able to do it anywhere, especially in high-stress situations where you benefit the most from meditation, such as a traffic jam, a stressful work meeting or a long line at the grocery store.
  • A comfortable position. You can practice meditation whether you’re sitting, lying down, walking or in other positions or activities. Just try to be comfortable so that you can get the most out of your meditation.

Everyday ways to practice meditation

Don’t let the thought of meditating the “right” way add to your stress. Sure, you can attend special meditation centers or group classes led by trained instructors. But you also can practice meditation easily on your own.

And you can make meditation as formal or informal as you like — whatever suits your lifestyle and situation. Some people build meditation into their daily routine. For example, they may start and end each day with an hour of meditation. But all you really need is a few minutes of quality time for meditation.

Here are some ways you can practice meditation on your own, whenever you choose:

  • Breathe deeply. This technique is good for beginners because breathing is a natural function. Focus all attention on your breathing. Concentrate on feeling and listening as you inhale and exhale through your nostrils. Breathe deeply and slowly. When your attention wanders, gently return your focus to your breathing.
  • Scan your body. When using this technique, focus attention on different parts of your body. Become aware of your body’s various sensations, whether that’s pain, tension, warmth or relaxation. Combine body scanning with breathing exercises and imagine breathing heat or relaxation into and out of different parts of your body.
  • Repeat a mantra. You can create your own mantra, whether it’s religious or secular. Examples of religious mantras include the Jesus Prayer in the Christian tradition, the holy name of God in Judaism, or the om mantra of Hinduism, Buddhism and other Eastern religions.
  • Walk and meditate. Combining a walk with meditation is an efficient and healthy way to relax. You can use this technique anywhere you’re walking — in a tranquil forest, on a city sidewalk or at the mall. When you use this method, slow down the pace of walking so that you can focus on each movement of your legs or feet. Don’t focus on a particular destination. Concentrate on your legs and feet, repeating action words in your mind such as lifting, moving and placing as you lift each foot, move your leg forward and place your foot on the ground.
  • Engage in prayer. Prayer is the best known and most widely practiced example of meditation. Spoken and written prayers are found in most faith traditions. You can pray using your own words or read prayers written by others. Check the self-help or 12-step-recovery section of your local bookstore for examples. Talk with your rabbi, priest, pastor or other spiritual leader about resources.

When you first start to meditate your mind will be very busy, and you might even feel that the meditation is making it busier; but in reality you are just becoming more aware of how busy your mind actually is. By practicing meditation patiently you can gradually calm this mental busyness and discover true mental peace.

Sometimes during meditation I become drowsy

If this happens, first try to tighten your concentration a little. If this does not work, open your eyes slightly to let more light in, and if this does not work temporarily suspend the meditation, open your eyes and look around the room at shiny objects or sunlight. No sooner does my mind find the object of meditation, than it loses it!

Training your mind to hold an object such as the breath in meditation is like a mother training her baby to hold a ball. At first when the mother hands the baby the ball the baby will drop it. But if the mother perseveres, gradually the baby’s grip will get stronger and eventually the baby will be able to hold the ball tightly.

In the same way, when we first start to meditate, the mind quickly drops its object and thinks of something else instead. The key to successful meditation is to be aware whenever this happens and bring the object of meditation back to mind. Eventually,through the force of familiarity, the mind will get a firm grip on it.

I enjoy meditation, but my experience quickly fades when I finish

Meditation does not end when we rise from the meditation seat. In the broadest sense, meditation is familiarizing your mind with a positive object, and we can do this at any time. Before rising from a meditation session it is important to make a determination not to lose the experience of inner peace.

Even though this experience will fade, if from time to time you actively recall it, gradually your mind will become more familiar with it and the experience will remain longer. Eventually it will remain in your mind day and night, growing stronger with each meditation.

Have you ever wondered what exactly Coca Cola is?

After 10 minutes: Ten tea spoons of sugar contained in a glass of Cola, cause devastating “strike” on the organism and the only cause, by reason of not vomiting, is the phosphoric acid which inhibits the action of sugar.

After 20 minutes: A leap of insulin levels in bloodstream occurs. The liver converts all the sugar into fat.

After 40 minutes: Ingestion of caffeine is finally completed. The eye pupils are expanding. Blood pressure rises, because the liver disposes more sugar into the bloodstream. The adenosine receptors get blocked, thereby preventing drowsiness.

After 45 minutes: Body raises production of dopamine hormone, which stimulates the brain pleasure center. Heroin has the same principle of operation.

After 1 hour: Phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in the gastrointestinal tract, which supercharges metabolism. Releasing of calcium through urine also rises.

After more than 1 hour: Diuretic effect of the drink enters in “the game”. The calcium, magnesium and zinc are removed out of the organism, which are a part of our bones, as well as sodium. At this time we have already become irritable or subdued. The whole quantity of water, contained in a coca cola, is removed by the urine.

Actually, when having a cold bottle of Coke and enjoying its undeniable freshness, do we know what chemical “cocktail” we pour into our throats? The active ingredient of Coca-Cola is orthophosphoric acid. Due to its high acidity, cisterns used for transporting of the concentrate have to be equipped with special reservoirs designed for highly corrosive materials.

Let’s have a look at “the anatomy” of one of the most advertised products of “Coca-Cola Co.” – Coca-Cola Light without caffeine. This drink contains Aqua Carbonated, E150D, E952, E951, E338, E330, Aromas, E211. Aqua Carbonated – this is sparkling water. It stirs gastric secretion, increases the acidity of the gastric juice and provokes flatulency – plenty evolution of gases. Furthermore, spring water is not used, but is used regular filtered water.

E150D – food coloring, obtained through the processing of sugar at specified temperatures, with or without addition of chemical reagents. In the case with coca-cola, ammonium sulfate is added.

E952 – Sodium Cyclamate is a sugar substitute. Cyclamate is a synthetic chemical, has sweet taste, which is 200 times sweeter than sugar, and is used as an artificial sweetener. In 1969 it was banned by FDA, since it as well as saccharin and aspartame, caused cancer in rats’ urinary bladder. In 1975, prohibition seized also Japan, South Korea and Singapore. In 1979, WHO (World Health Organization), “who knows why?” rehabilitated cyclamates and recognizing them as safe.

E950 – Acesulfame Potassium. 200 times sweeter than sugar, containing methyl ether, where it aggravates the operation of the cardiovascular system. Likewise, it contains asparaginic acid which can also cause excitant effect on our nervous system and in time it can lead to addiction. Acesulfame is badly dissolved and is not recommended for use by children and pregnant women.

E951 – Aspartame. A sugar substitute for diabetics and is chemically unstable: at elevated temperature it breaks down into methanol and phenylalanine. Methanol is very dangerous: 5-10ml can cause destruction of the optic nerve and irreversible blindness. In warm soft drinks, aspartame transforms into formaldehyde which is very strong carcinogen. Some number of cases with aspartame poisoning include: unconsciousness, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, weight gain, irritability, anxiety, memory loss, blurry vision, fainting, joint pains, depression, fertility, hearing loss and etc. Aspartame can also provoke the following diseases: brain tumors, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), epilepsy, Graves’ disease, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, mental deficiency and tuberculosis.

E338 – Orthophosphoric Acid. This can cause irritation of skin and eyes. It is used for production of phosphoric acid salts of ammonia, sodium, calcium, aluminum and also in organic synthesis for production of charcoal and film tapes, for production of refractory materials, ceramics, glass, fertilizers, synthetic detergents, medicine, metalworking, and textile and oil industries. Food orthophosphoric acid is used in the production of carbonated water and for preparation of ingredients in pastry. It is known that orthophosphoric acid interfere with the absorption of calcium and iron from the body, which can cause weakening of bones and osteoporosis. Other side effects are thirst and skin rashes.

E330 – Citric Acid. It is widely spread in nature and is used in pharmaceutical and food industries. Salts of citric acid (citrates) are used in food industry as acids, preservatives, stabilizers, and in medical fields – for preserving blood. Aromas – unknown aromatic additives

E211 – Sodium Benzoate. It is used in production of some food products, as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent. These products refer to jams, fruit juices and fruit yoghurts. It’s not recommended for use by asthmatics and people who are sensitive to aspirin. A study conducted by Peter Piper at the Sheffield University in Britain, found that this compound causes significant damage to DNA. According to his words, sodium benzoate which is an active component in preservatives doesn’t destroy DNA, but deactivating it. This can lead to cirrhosis and degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease.

So, if you can’t imagine a life without coca-cola, take advantage of the following recommendations:

– Many distributors of coca-cola in U.S use this drink for cleaning their truck engines.

– Many police officers in U.S have bottles of coca-cola in their cars and when a car accident happens, they wash the blood out of the road with it.

– Coca-Cola is a great tool for removing rusty stains on chrome surfaces of cars. To remove corrosion from car battery, pour it with Coke and the corrosion will disappear.

– To unscrew a rusty screw, dip a cloth in coca-cola and wrap around it for several minutes.

– To clean stains from clothes – pour coca-cola on dirty clothes, add washing powder and run the washing machine as usual. You will be surprised of the results.

– In India, some farmers use coca-cola instead of pesticides for pest extermination, because it’s cheaper and the effect is completely satisfying.

Widespread consumer demand for plastic products that are free of the hormone-disrupting chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) has led to some Water Drinking

significant positive changes in the way that food, beverage and water containers are manufactured. But a new study out of Germany has found that thousands of other potentially harmful chemicals are still leeching from plastic products into food and beverages, including an endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC) known as di(2-ethylhexyl) fumarate, or DEHF, that is completely unregulated.
Martin Wagner and his colleague, Jorg Oehlmann, from the Goethe University Frankfurt, in conjunction with a team of researchers from the German Federal Institute of Hydrology, learned this after conducting tests on 18 different bottled water products to look for the presence of EDCs. Using an advanced combination of bioassay work and high-resolution mass spectrometry, the team identified some 24,520 different chemicals present in the tested water.

But of major concern, and the apparent underpinning of the study’s findings, was DEHF, a plasticizer chemical that is used to make plastic bottles more flexible. According to reports, DEHF was clearly identified in the tested water as the most consistent and obvious culprit causing anti-estrogenic activity. Despite trace amounts of more than 24,000 other potentially damaging chemicals, DEHF stood out as the only possible EDC capable of inducing this particular observed activity, a highly concerning observation.

The study’s published abstract explains that 13 of the 18 bottled water products tested exhibited “significant” anti-estrogenic activity, while 16 of the 18 samples were found to inhibit the body’s androgen receptors by an astounding 90 percent. Additionally, the other 24,520 chemical traces besides DEHF were also identified as exhibiting antagonistic activity, which means that they, too, are detrimental to the body’s hormonal system.Water Bottles

But DEHF is apparently not alone in causing significant damage to the endocrine system, as the team was unable to identify this chemical as being specifically anti-androgenic. What this suggests is that there is some other chemical, or chemical combination, being leeched into bottled water that is interfering with the body’s chemical signaling system, which is, of course, responsible for hormone production and use within the body.

“We confirmed the identity and biological activity of DEHF and additional isomers of dioctyl fumarate and maleate using authentic standards,” report the researchers. “Since DEHF is anti-estrogenic but not anti-androgenic we conclude that additional, yet unidentified EDCs must contribute to the antagonistic effect of bottled water.”

So while these specific findings concerning DEHF are groundbreaking, the overall conclusion to be drawn from this research is that far more study is needed to determine the types of chemicals that are being leeched from plastic into our food and water, not to mention the extent of this leeching. And since the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the rest of the three-letter government agencies will surely never get around to conducting this important research, independent science will simply have to take up the charge.

“This work is a ‘tour de force’ in identification of endocrine disruptors in packaged materials,” says Bruce Blumberg from the University of California, Irvine, as quoted by Chemistry World. This type of analysis, he adds, “will be very important for our future understanding of what chemicals we are routinely exposed to and which of these pose hazards of being endocrine disruptors.”

In the meantime, conscious consumers can avoid plastic containers whenever possible and simply use glass or steel containers instead to avoid these unknown risks.
